KOZHIKODE: Muslim League state secretary K P A Majeed lashed out at chief minister and CPM. He said that nobody has given the ownership of Kerala to chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and CPM, by following the footsteps of BJP, is giving the tag of terrorists and communalists to all those who don’t support them. Muslim League has always stood for peace and fraternity and the stand taken by the party against the politics of vengeance and hate is crystal clear, he said through a press statement.

“Muslim league have always taken a strong stand against communalism and hate politics. If anyone functions against that stand then that person won’t continue in the party. In the Kanhangad murder case, the accused has been expelled from the party on receiving the police report. A thorough investigation should be conducted over the murder. Dignified political functioning is needed for the development of the state. Muslim league have always batted for fraternal relations within and outside the community, the party have always strived for maintaining peace and order in the state. Any practice which stands against the proclaimed mission of the party won’t be tolerated. Everybody knows who are spending lakhs from the state exchequer to save the tainted party men lodged in jail on serious murder charges,” he said.

“CPM which have no problem on getting into electoral ties with parties like BJP and SDPI which are bete-noire organisations for Malayalis are now alleging communal charges on Muslim League. The chief minister has turned against League with the clear communal intention to mobilise the majority vote bank, without following the basic political dignity. I know it is a mistake to expect dignity from such a party which picturised the poor people who protested against the GAIL project as terrorists and dubbed those who are protesting against the black sand mining as only people of Malappuram. CPM, by following the footsteps of BJP, is giving the tag of terrorists and communalists to all those who don’t support them. People will realise the sinister political intentions of the Chief Minister to corner the Muslim League. The state has never given its ownership rights to anyone,” Majeed added.
