KANNUR: At last decision on who will head Kannur Corporation has come out. T O Mohanan has been elected as the Mayor of Kannur corporation. Even though UDF has secured a clear majority in the corporation, multiple names came up for the head of the corporation. With this, it was decided to elect the mayor through an election. Last time, he was the leader of the Congress party in the corporation.

T O Mohanan has become the Mayor by defeating KPCC general secretary Martin Geroge and former deputy mayor P K Ragesh. Unconfirmed reports also suggest that Martin Geroge withdrew from the last round of elections. The election held through a secret ballot. When Mohanan got the support of 11 members, P K Ragesh got only nine votes.
