THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 4905 COVID-19 cases on Sunday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 4307 persons developed the disease through contact including 471 cases without an identified source of infection. 83 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 44 health workers tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 3463 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 65,169 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 25 deaths due to the virus on Saturday with the toll rising to 2976.

With the addition of seven new regions and the removal of four, there are 466 hotspots in the state.
