KOLLAM: Visitors are flocking to the Neendakara Bridge in Kollam to enjoy dolphins swimming and playing as a group of these aquatic mammals are creating an exciting sight here.

Blue and white dolphins come in daily. They will start coming one by one from 10 am. They arrive in pods at noon. When the strong heat of the sun gets intense, they line up in a row under the shadow of the bridge. The Neendakara Bridge is also the confluence of the Ashtamudi Lake and the Arabian Sea. It is also a time when debris from the lake can be clearly seen. Officials at the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute say they are also coming to feed on it. Small fish are also eaten by them.

Dolphins can weigh up to 20 to 100 kg. It is rare for dolphins to get caught in the net. If it gets caught, it will cut through the net and escape.
