ALAPPUZHA: Father-son duo came under police net for downloading nude images of children via online. The father and the 22-year-old son are natives of Trikunnapuzha, Alappuzha. But the police was shocked to hear the testimony given by the son. The youth used his father’s phone to download nude images. His father didn’t know about it. He only came to know about the incident when the police officials briefed him about it. Police say that he had downloaded several pictures and videos using his father’s smartphone.

Another person from Alappuzha has also been arrested in connection with the case. Smartphones have been seized from them. These phones will be sent to the forensic lab in Thiruvananthapuram for further testing. Cases will be only registered against them under the POCSO act once the result of these tests is out.

As part of the ‘P hunt’ operation launched by Kerala police in association with Interpol, to nab those who circulate nude images of children online, 525 cases have been registered so far. 428 persons were also arrested. This includes doctors and IT professionals.
