ALAPPUZHA: CPM has taken disciplinary actions against those who openly criticised the selection of Alappuzha Municipal chairperson. Three branch secretaries were expelled from the party. The expelled branch secretaries are P Pradeep, Sukesh and PP Manoj. According to sources, action will be taken against other party workers as well.

Earlier, a group of CPM workers had protested against the leadership for overlooking CPM area committee member KK Jayamma and naming Soumya Raj as Municipal chairperson. The demonstration was led by branch secretary P Pradeep.
