THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Dismissing the statement of Samastha Mushavara member Umar Faizi who came out in support of the government over the UDF links with the Welfare Party, Samastha President Muhammed Jifri Muthukoya said that no one has been tasked to talk on Samastha's behalf. He said that no one will be allowed to drag Samastha into political controversy. Individuals' comments should not be written in the name of the organization. He said the president or general secretary would convey Samastha's views and stance.

Mushavara member Umar Faizi Mukkam criticized the UDF and gave full support to the government in connection with the meeting convened by the Chief Minister as part of his visit to Kozhikode. A government that protects the rights of the community should come to power. Jamaat-e-Islami promotes religious nationalism. Samastha is against it. He had said that he would oppose the UDF in the elections if they joined hands with the Jamaat. Jamaat-e-Islami was not invited to the meetings convened by the Chief Minister in Kozhikode and Malappuram. This was due to the alliance with the UDF in the local elections. However, Sunni and Mujahideen leaders, who are close to the UDF, were invited to the meeting.

All those invited to the meeting in Malappuram today, except the leaders of Samastha, had arrived earlier. K Alikutty Muslyar, the general secretary of Samastha and one of the key leaders, was invited but didn't come due to ill health and a representative was sent instead.
