THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government will take over the protection of the children whose parents immolated themselves against court proceedings in Neyyattinkara. The government will built a house for them. The chief minister has directed to take immediate action.
Shafi Parambil and Sabarinathan had earlier informed that Youth Congress will built a house for them. The government ignores these people while protecting the rich and others. A lapse on the side of the police and a wrong action were seen here, said Sabarinathan MLA. Following this, the government announced to take over the children. Rajan’s sister had earlier asked the government to meet the expenses of the children’s education.
Rajan and his wife Ambili of Pongil immolated themselves last Tuesday. The two who were in a serious condition were undergoing treatment at the medical college hospital. Both kidneys of Rajan were damaged.
When the police came to implement a court order, Rajan and his wife immolated themselves. Rajan revealed that he threatened to commit suicide after dousing himself and his wife in petrol. An attempt made by a police officer to snatch a lighter from his hand backfired as the couple caught fire. Rajan’s son said that the police tried to evict them without allowing them to eat.
