THRISSUR: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the recommendations made by people from different walks of life during Kerala tour will be included in LDF’s poll manifesto. “Assistance from different sectors would be asked for the smooth march for Kerala’s development. The current discussions are going on based on the sole theme of Kerala’s development,” the chief minister said.

Chief Minister’s words:

Everybody is expressing confidence over Kerala’s development. All districts have unanimously asked for the betterment of higher education sector. Better discussions were held on issues of woman empowerment. The left front government has fulfilled five years and the government is satisfied over the fact that it has fulfilled almost everything that it promised to the people in the poll manifesto.

Therefore LDF should discuss across length and breadth, what it should do in the coming five years. Earlier poll manifestoes were created after realising the public opinion garnered through such all Kerala events. That is why it is repeated. Such programmes are conducted to collect opinions and ideas which could further augment the state’s development graph.

The government was able to fulfil several projects on time. Now, we are functioning for the creation of a new Kerala. LDF and the government have the ability to move forward. The rationale of opinions and ideas collected through such programmes will give new insights into the forward march of the government. Development approach should be based on regional and societal aspirations and projects should be created on a priority basis in accordance with it.

Now we are facing grave danger from the pandemic. Large scale and expansive programmes are not appropriate now. But it is also important to know about society’s perceptions. Without it, the blueprint of Kerala’s future couldn’t be completed. It was decided to interact with experts from various sectors in the state, in this background. Kerala tour began on December 22. As of now, 11 districts have been covered. The tour on Idduki district will be conducted later. Those who kept a distance from LDF and those who helped UDF have actively participated in the programmes.
