NEW DELHI: Representatives of the Jacobite church held talks with Prime Minister over Church issues. The group asked Prime Minister to discuss with Kerala BJP leaders the denial of justice to them. The representatives of the Jacobite faction sought the intervention of Prime Minister, over capturing the ownership of the church. The Prime Minister also deputed union minister V Muraleedharan and Mizoram governor P Sreedharan Pillai to continue the talks with church factions.
The Jacobite faction has told the prime minister that the rights of the majority have been violated and the court verdict which denied natural justice to them should be discussed. But the orthodox faction has ruled out the possibility of a compromise talk over the Supreme Court verdict. After the talks, the Jacobite faction responded to media that Prime Minister has taken an open stand on the issue and they expect that natural justice will be served to them.
Meanwhile, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the church fued could pay the way for serious law and order issues and there is nothing wrong over PM’s intervention. He also said that there could not be any politics in the issue.
