NEW DELHI: Mizoram Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai said that the problems between the Orthodox and Jacobite Churches are very deep and should be resolved from within.
"I have a good relationship with churches. I don't want to go into the merits of the Supreme Court judgment. Both the churches have informed the Prime Minister of their position and I hope that they will be able to come to a compromise by discussing with each other', Pillai said.
Over the past two days, representatives of the Orthodox-Jacobite Church have met with the Prime Minister to state their position. "The meetings were arranged since the church representatives wanted to meet the Prime Minister. The assistance was provided without violating the limitations of being a governor, ”said Sreedharan Pillai.
