KOCHI: The verdict on Sivasankar’s bail plea in connection with the customs case registered as part of gold smuggling case will be issued on Wednesday. The verdict is issued by a special court which deals with economic offences. Sivasankar’s contention is that customs had not produced any evidence against him so far.
When the court took up his bail plea, Sivasankar’s advocate has informed the court that his client is suffering from several health issues. Meanwhile, the customs which opposed his bail plea has said that the former principal secretary, has played a major role in the gold smuggling case.

He has gone abroad seven times with Swapna Suresh. Sivasankar has also testified that he had incurred the expense of foreign trips all the seven times.
