KOCHI: The state government will file an appeal against the high court verdict in which the court ordered to acquire the Church under the security cover of CRPF. The government has decided to approach the division bench after the Christmas vacation. The government informed the high court about its intention to file an appeal when the court took up the appeal filed by the Jacobite church against the single bench’s verdict.

The verdict stated that if district collector has not acquired the church before January 8, then the proceedings should be conducted with the security cover of CRPF. If the state government is not ready to take up the church them, the central government should initiate the proceedings to acquire the church with the help of CRPF. The high court has also deputed additional solicitor general to inform the court order to CRPF authorities. The Pallipuram camp of CRPF will have the responsibility to provide security.
