THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Neighbours evicted a woman and her children from their house in Kazhakoottam. The family were evicted from their shed erected in a puramboke land. After evicting them from the shed, the neighbours demolished it. The incident happened on December 17.

The family were staying at Sainik Nagar in Kazhakoottam. Surumi, the housewife and her three minor children were living in the shed erected on the puramboke land. The neighbours who came with weapons drove them out of the shed and then demolished it. This came to light even before the wounds of the tragic incident that led to the death of the couple in Neyyattinkara healed.

Surumi said that she had lodged a complaint but the police did not take it seriously. She is planning to approach the police again demanding action against those who misbehaved with her. CCTV footages show the house was demolished by the neighbours without any provocation from the family.
