THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP MLA Rajagopal has come up with an explanation regarding the controversy over him supporting the state's resolution against the central government's contentious agricultural laws. The MLA said in a statement that he strongly opposed the resolution in the Assembly. While claiming that the speaker did not distinguish between those who were in favour of the resolution and those who were against it, Rajagopal accused the speaker of breaching the norms by summarizing the process in a single question.

Earlier, Rajagopal had informed the media that he was supporting the resolution presented by the CM as it was in line with public opinion. Sources said that Rajagopal was forced to issue a new statement after other BJP leaders spoke to him.
