THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 5215 COVID-19 cases on Thursday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 4621 persons developed the disease through contact including 405 cases without an identified source of infection. 122 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 67 health workers tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 5376 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 65,202 active cases in the state.
The state confirmed 30 deaths due to the virus on Thursday with the toll rising to 3072.

In the last 24 hours, 58,283 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 8.95.
With the addition of 1 new region and the removal of 4, there are 458 hotspots in the state.
