THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Schools for tenth and plus two students opened partially today after more than nine months in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. Students of other classes can continue their studies online from home. 3118 high schools and 2077 higher secondary schools opened today.
The classes will be in two shifts for nearly seven lakh students of tenth and plus two. Doubts and revision of what was taught online would be focused mainly. The classes will focus on topics likely to be asked in the exam. SCERT had yesterday revealed the subjects to be given importance.
The students reached school with their parents’ consent letter. Attendance is not mandatory. All teachers should be in school. The classes will be held with 50% of students at a time. Only one child will be permitted to sit in a bench. Vacant class rooms can be used for studies. The situation will be assessed and changes would be brought in after a week.
COVID cells have been formed in schools led by the head master to strictly adhere to COVID norms. The CBSE Management has informed that they will act on the instructions of the government.
Arrangements were made to welcome students back in strict compliance with the safety protocols.
