THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala said that if the news that Speaker will be questioned by customs in the dollar smuggling case is true, then he is not entitled to remain in that post even for a moment. The post of the speaker is high in democracy. He said that it is an insult to the Kerala Assembly that Speaker himself is involved in the dollar smuggling case related to the gold smuggling case.

Youth League leader P K Feroz said the news that the speaker would be questioned is an indication that a man who is a thief by profession will be caught one day. The speaker has a constitutional status that goes beyond politics. Even if suspicion arises against the speaker, he should not remain in that post until the suspicion has been resolved. If he has any decency, he should be removed from the post when called for interrogation.
