THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Youth who lost Rs 21 lakh in online rummy committed suicide, at Kuttichal in Thiruvananthapuram. Kuttichal native Vineeth hanged himself in his property near to his home. Vineeth who was working in ISRO on contract was 28 years old. He body was found in a hanging condition near his home on December 31st.

Vineeth lost Rs 21 lakh via online rummy game. Vineeth invested this much amount of money in the game after taking loans from different finance companies but as he lost in several games, suddenly Vineeth became a debtor worth lakhs.

Vineeth played the most number of rummy games during the lockdown period. He informed about his financial debt when the total mount crossed Rs 21 lakh. Later the relatives intervened and they paid a part of the debt. About a month ago he even eloped from his home, due to the pressure to repay the loan amount. Later police found him out and took him back to his home. Later, in course of time, Vineeth became the victim of depression. Vineeth was addicted to the game since the past one year.
