THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 5328 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 4801 persons developed the disease through contact including 392 cases without an identified source of infection. 78 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 57 health workers tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 4985 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 65,374 active cases in the state.
The state confirmed 21 deaths due to the virus on Saturday with the toll rising to 3116.

In the last 24 hours, 54,098 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 9.85.
