THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister A K Saseendran said the campaign that he is leaving the NCP is totally baseless. Addressing a press meet, he said that the campaigns were meant to confuse the party activists.

‘No one in the Front has said they will leave the Left Front. It is some people’s imaginary creation that I will be joining Congress S. The NCP is not in a situation to leave the Left Front. All the present news about the NCP is baseless. The NCP will contest all the seats contested last time. Mani C Kappan just expressed his concerns. How to deal Jose K Mani, is it a headache for the NCP. It will be discussed collectively by all in the Left Front’, he said.

There are reports that A K Saseendran will remain in the Left Front even if the NCP decides to leave the front. It is heard that he will join the Kerala Congress to stay in the front. Ramachandran Kadannapally is not likely to contest the coming assembly elections. Therefore, Saseendran is planning to join the Kerala Congress and contest as an LDF candidate in Elathur.

NCP had held talks with the UDF when it was almost certain that Jose faction would join the Left front. After CPM assured Jose the Pala seat, the Congress began move to field Kappan in Pala. Not only Kappan but the NCP itself is now trying to join the UDF. Meantime, NCP executive committee member Thomas K Thomas said that they will not leave the LDF. He made it clear that he would not leave the front whether there are problems in the party or not.
