THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 4600 COVID-19 cases on Sunday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 4039 persons developed the disease through contact including 451 cases without an identified source of infection. 61 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 49 health workers tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 4668 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 65,278 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 25 deaths due to the virus on Sunday with the toll rising to 3141.

In the last 24 hours, 47,291 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 9.73.

With the addition of 2 new regions and the removal of 1, there are 448 hotspots in the state.
