THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has responded to the question of the media persons as to whether the Lavalin case was the final weapon of the central government against the CPM. The CM opened up about the case during a recent interview.

According to the CM, the central agencies can do nothing more in the investigation. He said that two courts had pronounced the verdict in the case and the court had made it clear that he was not even an accused in the case. The CM added that he is not ready to respond with a preconceived notion in this regard.

Pinarayi also said that the gold smuggling case has not affected the government. " The gold smuggling case has not affected the state government. Let the investigation take place. However, it is not the right approach for the central agencies to interfere in the policies of the state government in the name of investigation. By doing so, the central agencies are acting against the democracy and the constitution," the CM added.
