CHENGANNUR: Two killed as an out of control bike hit a tree. The deceased have been identified as Shanmukhan (22) and Appu (19), sons of Haridas and Sujatha. The accident took place near Kulikampalam junction on MK Road around midnight on Saturday. They were on their way to their mother's house. Appu died at the scene and Shanmukhan died after he was rushed to the Chengannur district hospital.

Shanmukhan, who used to work in Salem, returned to his native place and stayed there for the last one year. Appu had completed Plus Two. It is believed that the accident was caused due to the lights of the vehicle that came from the opposite direction, which was not dimmed. The bodies of the brothers will be handed over to the relatives after Covid test. The funeral will be held at 2 pm on Monday at the their mother's house in Edavankadu.
