THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: More information has surfaced regarding the incident where a mother sexually abused her 14-year-old son in Kadakkavur. The boy said that his mother behaved with him badly during night. During the counseling given by the child line workers, the buy said that the woman had treated him badly for four long years.

Police have arrested a woman from Vakkom, the culprit in the incident, under POCSO Act. The arrest of a victim's mother under POCSO is an unheard in the state.

The incident came to light after the father of the teenage child lodged a complaint with childline. The incident took place when the mother and four children was staying at the house in Vakkom. A few days ago, the 17-year-old son saw something suspicious on his mother's phone and reported it to his father.

His father, who was abroad, returned home and obtained a divorce from the woman. The father says the child has been abused by his mother for a long time. After the child opened up to his father, the child was counseled by childline workers and the statement was recorded.

The boy told the childline workers the same things he had said to his father. The mother of the child was arrested on a complaint lodged by childline activists with the Kadakkavur police. The woman has been remanded. The woman is currently lodged in the Attakulangara women's jail.
