THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 5615 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 5037 persons developed the disease through contact including 475 cases without an identified source of infection. 59 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 44 health workers tested positive for the virus on Tuesday. 2 persons who recently returned from the UK tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 4922 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 63,802 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 24 deaths due to the virus on Tuesday with the toll rising to 3184.

In the last 24 hours, 61,269 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 9.16.
