THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala University has temporarily suspended spot admissions. The act was following the heavy rush witnessed without adhering to COVID norms. The university has informed that the new dates will be informed later. Spot admission of Kerala University was for BA, BSc and B.Com courses.
Things went wrong when all except scheduled castes and scheduled tribes were called on the same day. The registration time was from 8 am to 10 am. The admission of BSc students was postponed to afternoon due to uncontrollable rush. With that, those who came from far away had to wait at the university without going back.
The spot admissions earlier conducted in colleges were shifted to Kerala University following widespread complaints. The rush was due to admission of general category students and time has been permitted for Kollam and Pathanamthitta districts the next day, said the officials of the university.
