THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 5051 COVID-19 cases on Thursday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 4489 persons developed the disease through contact including 448 cases without an identified source of infection. 78 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 36 health workers tested positive for the virus on Thursday. 4 persons who recently returned from the UK tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 5638 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 64,445 active cases in the state.
The state confirmed 25 deaths due to the virus on Thursday with the toll rising to 3234.
