CHANGANASSERY: A 14-year-old student was injured after getting shot with an air gun. The incident took place on Wednesday evening at Pottassery in Changanassery when Ambadi, son of Padmakumar and Shobha, got injured after a pellet pierced his chest. Police have two youths named Ajesh (26) and Ansil (19) in connection with the incident.

According to sources, Ajesh, Ansil and their friends using an air gun inadvertently in the Pottassery area when they pointed the gun at Ambadi who was standing in front of his house. Soon, Ambadi was shot and the half-pierced pellet was pulled out by the boy himself. Relatives and locals rushed him to the taluk hospital for first aid. He will be shifted to Kottayam Medical College Hospital today for further examination.

The accused were soon arrested by a police team led by Thrikkodithanam Inspector A. Ajeeb, SIs Rajesh, Saji Sarang and ASI Biju. According to police, Ajesh was an accused in several criminal cases and Ansil an accused in a drug case.
