THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Underworld don Ravi Pujari told the police that he did not threaten opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala over the phone. Pujari informed the police that he did not know Chennithala and have never contacted him over phone. The Kerala Police team was led by Assistant Commissioner, Cantonment, Thiruvananthapuram, Suneesh Babu. In October 2016, Pujari had allegedly called and threatened Chennithala over the phone.

It is learnt that Pujari had threatened to kill a family member of Chennithala if he talked badly about Muhammed Nisham, who is serving his sentence in the Chandra Bose murder case. Following this, Chennithala handed over a complaint to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The threat came from the UK number +447440190035. Though the High Tech Cell tried to find the address of the number by contacting the British police through Interpol, it did not find any success.
