THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Comptroller and Auditor General's new report containing remarks about KIIFB may be tabled in the Kerala Assembly on Monday. A controversy had erupted when Finance Minister Thomas Isaac lashed out at the report and revealed its content before it was tabled in the Assembly. Following this, the opposition accused the Finance Minister of violating the rule by leaking the report. Hence, the opposition is likely to intensify its protest in the Assembly.
The Privileges and Ethics Committee of the Assembly, chaired by MLA Pradeep Kumar, is likely to be table its final report on the infringement complaint against the Minister, either on Sunday or on Monday. There are indications that the committee will come to the conclusion that there was no violation of rights on the part of the minister. This will also be a weapon for the opposition to attack the government.
