THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A recent report claims that police authorities did not take any action regarding the massive corruption in the police canteen despite receiving information about it. This became clear after a report submitted by the KAP 3rd Brigade Commandant to the DGP surfaced. The report stated that no action was taken by the authorities despite receiving information about the irregularities in the Adoor Subsidiary Central Police Canteen. It also suggested that the scam should be investigated by an outside agency.

According to the report, a whopping amount of Rs 42,29,956 was spent on purchasing non-essential items in the canteen during 2018-19. This was based on oral instruction given by the superiors. The report states that the imposition of obsolete products on officials is an inhumane act and that the products should be returned to the respective companies.
