THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 5005 COVID-19 cases on Sunday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 4506 persons developed the disease through contact including 388 cases without an identified source of infection. 68 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 43 health workers tested positive for the virus on Sunday.
Meanwhile, 4408 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 68,991 active cases in the state.
The state confirmed 21 deaths due to the virus on Sunday with the toll rising to 3463.

With the addition of 8 new regions and the removal of 1, there are 420 hotspots in the state.
