THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Transport Department has approved the report prepared by CMD Biju Prabhakar for the complete revamp of the upper deck of the KSRTC management. Those including executive directors will be given the opportunity to retire voluntarily. Expert training will be provided to those who wish to continue. A new top management team will be formed by recruiting competent experts. The 'purification' will take place as per the recommendations of the Sushil Khanna report.

The government has given a double bell to launch the reforms after Biju Prabhakar exposed the massive frauds of the corporation's employees, including the Rs 100 crore irregularities in the deal with KTDFC. For the last ten years, KSRTC has been under the control of a trinity known as the 'Triple Front' among its employees. They ruled the corporation by influencing the occasional chiefs. There is a fourth person who helped them. It was this 'front' that Biju Prabhakar demolished

Executive Director KM Sreekumar, who is facing a vigilance probe for the missing Rs 100 crore, is the leader of the 'Triple Front'. Another leader is Sharaf Mohammad, who received a notice for reinstating an accused in the POCSO case.

An inquiry is underway into the irregularities that took place in KSRTC during 2012-15. The departmental inquiry will continue. The vigilance inquiry will come against those who were on the board of directors at the time. Two opposition trade union leaders were members of the board of directors during this period. One of these leaders led the march to the chief's office shortly after Biju Prabhakar's press conference on Saturday.
