THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief minister summoned CMD of KSRTC, Biju Prabhakar, on the recent controversy over KSRTC. He was summoned to the chief minister’s office on Sunday. Sources say that CM asked him to stay away from making controversial statements. The chief minister told the CMD that reforms in KSRTC are under the active consideration of the government and the statements accusing the employees’ organisations should be averted. CM also added that he will continue to receive the active support of the government in his future programmes in the corporation. After the meet with the employees’ unions today, the CMD will again meet the chief minister in the evening.
The press conference conducted by Biju Prabhakar two days ago revealing the financial irregularities in the corporation has set off a controversy. He also said that the corporation’s revenue worth Rs 100 crore earned during the 2012-15 period were removed by certain individuals from accounts. He also said the continuation of certain inefficient individuals in the corporation poses a great threat for its survival. Although he clarified that only 10 per cent of employees are the threat, all the employees union in the corporation turned against him. On Sunday, while addressing the employees through FB live, the CMD has reiterated his earlier stand. The chief minister sought his direct clarification on the issue after this.
