CHATHANNOOR: A young man was killed after an out-of-control veterinary ambulance collided with his bike. Sajith Mohan (22), son of Mohanan Pillai and Ajitha Kumari of Vanaja Bhavan (Kailasam) in Kalluvathukkal Mevanakonam has been identified as the deceased. The accident took place in front of the IOC petrol pump at Paripally on the National Highway at around 7.15 pm last night.

Sajith was returning from work at a welding workshop in Vettiyara, Navaikkulam.

The private veterinary ambulance was on its way to Thiruvananthapuram from Malappuram. Sajith was hit by the ambulance that went to the right side of the road while overtaking another vehicle. Despite wearing a helmet, Sajith succumbed to his injuries and died on the spot. The body was taken to Paripally Government Medical College mortuary. Sajith's only brother is Ajith Mohan. Paripally police registered a case regarding the incident.

Sajith's couldn't see his father Mohanan Pillai, who arrived from the Gulf three days ago, up close and also couldn't attend his brother Ajith Mohan's wedding. The father was not able to interact closely with the son as he was in quarantine. Sajith and his family were happy that his brother Ajith's marriage was fixed. Mohanan Pillai came home for this. Sajith Mohan was an active member of Yuva Morcha.
