KOCHI: Protesting the standing councillor elections, councillor resigns. M H M Ashraf who represents the sixth ward in the corporation has resigned. Ashraf has resigned from the local committee membership. He said the party hasn’t considered him.

Meanwhile, marking a historical feat, BJP members have won the chairman post of the corporation’s permanent committee. Priya Prasanth has won the chief’s post to the tax standing committee. Priya got four, UDF received three and Left front secured two votes.
