KATTAKADA: As many as 306 Aadhar cards and related documents were recovered from a scrap shop in Kattakkada on Saturday. The Aadhar cards were found among the scrap items handed over by an autorickshaw driver two days ago. It is learnt that the autorickshaw driver's wife is a temporary employee of a post office.
Most of the Aadhar cards that were recovered belonged to people from Karakulam Kachani region in Thiruvananthapuram. It was Kerala Kaumudi Kattakada agent Sukumaran Nair who initially noticed the Aadhar cards while an employee of the shop was sorting the papers. Following this, the police were informed about this. Kattakada Police Circle Inspector D Bijukumar reached the shop and shifted the Aadhaar cards and other documents to the police station.
Police said that most of the cards were issued in 2015. Upon conducting an investigation at the Karakulam post office, police discovered that the cards were handed over to the temporary employee for distribution. The police have filed a case voluntarily.
