WAYANAD: The forest department has turned against the private resort where a woman was killed in an attack by a wild elephant. The department said that the resort where the woman stayed did not follow adequate security measures.

The officials of the forest department said the forest around the tent where the tourists were staying were not cleared. The tents were raised in the forest without a license. The owner claimed that the government was not issuing licenses for the tents. The owner of the resort told police that she was attacked when she was coming back from the washroom.

Shahana Sathar (26) from Kannur was killed in the attack at 8 pm last night. She was the head of the psychology department of Darunnujoom College of Arts and Science at Perambra in Kozhikode.
