THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Women’s commission chief M C Josephine has said that writer T Padmanabhan’s opinion on her was made without understanding the due facts of the issue. She said that his statement deeply hurt her and he should have tried to understand the truth.

“He should have called and asked me about the issue”, she said. Josephine also added that she has great respect for the writer. She also added that the old woman will get justice and the case is currently under the consideration of the court.

Women’s panel chief M C Josephine has insisted that the bedridden old woman should be present before the commission which set off a controversy. Along with this, the audio recording of Josephine lashing communal slurs on the woman’s relative further deepened the issue. Author and writer T Padmanabhan has criticised the woman’s panel chief using harsh words.

He expressed his opposition to Josephine’s behaviour to senior CPM leader P Jayarajan who met the writer as part of the party’s house visit programme. He told him that the women’s panel chief’s conduct is not appropriate for her position and what is the need of appointing her in that post with a high salary and a separate car?
