THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM has decided to capture the temple committees in the state to keep a tab on BJP’s growth. The move is to bring those devotees to temple administration who doesn’t have any links with RSS and those who are the sympathisers of CPM. Even though the party has taken a similar decision before, the leaders opine that it was not implemented properly.

The issue became a point of discussion in the party’s lower levels during on the trends in local body polls. The party has told the workers that BJP which has deep influence in the administrative panels of temples is using the ties with devotees to reap political benefits during elections. To put an end to this, party workers and sympathisers should start functioning in temples. The party also asked them to take part in temple committees.

CPM also directed its party men to check the leak of votes in its traditional strongholds. Communal factors are responsible for the rise of BJP in southern constituencies of Kollam and western constituencies of Thiruvananthapuram. It should be studied clearly how BJP benefited from its ties with BJDS? The saffron party has a clear lead in seven constituencies in Thrissur district, Six in Palakkad, Three in Kasargod and two in Kozhikode. Considering these factors the party is hatching new moves to capture temple committees in the state.
