THRISSUR: A major fire broke out at Kunnamkulam in the district. The fire broke out at a scrap shop and a paper godown. Fire force reached the spot and doused the flames. Initial reports said there is a casualty worth Rs 15 lakh.

The fire broke out at the scrap shop on Yesudas Road Wednesday morning at 4.30 am. The fire soon spread to the paper godown and at the binding centre adjacent to the scrap shop.

The shop belongs to Musthafa, a native of Pattambi. It is not clear how the fire broke out.
