KOLLAM: A youth was brutally beaten up at Kottiyam in Kollam suspecting him to be a bike thief. The victim has been identified as Shamnad of Mylapore. The incident happened recently. He kept on saying that he was not a thief, but the torture continued. When he tried to flee from the place, the miscreants ran after him and beat him.

The police later nabbed the real bike stealers. The youth is not able to get out of the house after the pictures of the assault have gone viral on social media. Shamnad lodged a complaint with Kollam city police commissioner against the miscreants and those who circulated the pictures on social media. Police said an investigation has started.
