THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There are indications that actor Dharmajan Bolgatty’s name is on the list of Congress candidates for the assembly elections. It is believed that the actor is being considered from Balussery in Kozhikode. Dharmajan responded that he would contest if the party asks him. No talks were held on it, he said.

The actor was active in the constituency for the past few days. He said that he would return to Balussery after two days. The Balussery constituency is presently with the Muslim League. If the Congress takes over the constituency, Dharmajan will be the candidate here.

Dharmajan had visited many people from the arts and public fields in Kozhikode and held talks with district leaders. It is heard that he is in constant touch with state leaders. Balussery is a constituency that has been close with the LDF for decades.

CPM candidate Purushan Kadalundi won by more than 15,000 votes last time. The Congress hopes to win the constituency through Dharmajan.
