THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has justified the state government's move to transfer the solar case to the CBI. "The government never said that it will not hand over any case to the CBI. Recently, it had handed over the Walayar case to the CBI when the children's mother requested a CBI probe. Similarly, in case of custodial death, it will be handed over to the CBI. But in the solar case, only a natural procedure took place. The government has no political malice in leaving the case to the CBI," the CM said.

Pinarayi Vijayan alleged that former CM Oommen Chandy had tried to trap him in the Lavalin case. He also said that the UDF government had transferred a government official, who investigated the case, overnight for submitting a report. The CM also reminded that the inquiry commission had taken a strong stand when the victim in the solar case lodged a complaint with it.
