THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 11th Pay Revision Commission on Friday submitted its recommendation to the Chief Minister. The commission has recommended raising the minimum salary of government employees to Rs 23,000 and the maximum to Rs 1,66,800.
The revised salaries will be implemented with retrospective effect from July 1, 2019. The House Rent Allowance (HRA) has been recommended as 10 percent of the basic salary in corporations, 8 and 6 percent in municipalities and 4 percent in panchayats.
The commission also recommended a Rs 1500 special allowance for village officers and unification of the salaries of paramedical staff in the health department. It also recommended increasing the ceiling of pension gratuity from Rs 14 lakh to Rs 17 lakh. Pensioners above 80 years of age can be given an excess amount of Rs 1000. The commission also recommended one year leave with 40 percent of the salary for those government employees who have to take care of bedridden parents and children below 3 years of age.
