THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 6282 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 5725 persons developed the disease through contact including 425 cases without an identified source of infection. 81 persons who came from outside the state tested positive for the virus. 51 health workers contracted the disease on Saturday.
One UK returnee developed the disease in the last 24 hours. So far, 76 UK returnees have tested positive for the virus.
7032 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 71,469 active cases in the state.
The state confirmed 18 deaths due to the virus on Saturday with the toll rising to 3722.
