CHERTHALA: District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has ordered to pay Rs 14.30 lakh as compensation to a house owner whose house and appliances were burnt down by a fire which was caused by a new fridge. The order was issued on a petition filed by Vinod P Lal against LG Electronics.

On January 15, Vinod's house, TV, washing machine, other appliances and property documents were destroyed by the fire that was caused by the fridge which was purchased on February 9, 2017.
