KOTTAYAM: Former chief minister and senior Congress leader Oommen Chandy has said that he will again visit Panakkad. “LDF convenor and CPM secretary A Vijayaraghavan is disappointed over his inability to visit Muslim League leaders,” he added.

Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has asked if anybody could accept the peculiar political condition in Kerala where if some political leader visits Pankkad Thangal, it would amount to fueling communalism? “The issue of fielding Oommen Chandy in Nemom is just a political recommendation from workers of the party and the final decision on poll candidates will be taken by the party’s high command. I don’t know if he will leave Puthupally,” he added.

LDF convenor and CPM general secretary A Vijayaraghavan has earlier said that the political message behind Oommen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala’s visit to Panakkad is clear and it is intended to expand the ties with religious fundamentalists.
