THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A major tragedy was averted with the timely intervention of a bus driver. A two-year-old boy who ran after the ball which slipped from his hands and fell on the road, escaped miraculously. The boy came to the shop with his parents to buy cycle for his brother. The tragedy was averted after the driver of the bus applied brake two metres away from the boy standing on the road.
The incident happened last evening at 5 pm near Udiyankulangara Junction. The family from Neyyattinkara was standing in a cycle shop near the junction. The boy ran behind the ball which fell from his hands unexpectedly. The driver of the KSRTC bus which came that way suddenly applied brakes and a major tragedy was averted. The bike which came from the opposite direction also passed by a slight difference.
